See i took my car to VW and the technician told me there's something diffently wrong with your clutch, waiting to hear back from them and to be honest i've got all the same symptoms as a failing pedal box and it seems to be a common problem but when ringing head office they seemed to be playing dumb and said "well it can't be to common as we haven't heard of it"

has anyone got any "goodwill gesture" on the Polo E also do i have a leg to stand on?
Thanks
Anis

Mate Did the box creak and things when pressed, mine done it for a while then went, it was fun driving with out the ckutch pedal, but can be done, Also as well have you thought about adjusting the clutch cable too ?
My thrust bearing went, and thought hmmmm new clutch too, got the box out, thrust bearing replaced, but clutch was fine, altho i fitted the new clutch anyway, and all that really needed done was the cable adjusted !

It Did Sound like Mine, the changing gears issue, may means you just need it adjusted, any mechanic can do this, your pedal box sounds if it is on its way out.
Driving without a clutch PEDAL, engine of, put it into first gear and start car, will start in this gear no probs, then get it up to about 5/6K revs knock out of gear, and then rev the enginge to 2k revs and throw it into the next gear, best going straight into third lol

I've replaced my pedal box as it went, they are really really bad, as stated everywhere on the forum, what i thought was my clutch turned out to be the thrust bearing (its inside the gearbox) and then clutch cable adjusted, this was after the box went, but i bought a new clutch anyway and got it fitted !

From what i've heard they can vary from £300 to £400? im hoping not to pay as ive been doing some research and its a fault within the whole model range in our year E,MATCH,GTI and the others i don't know, and i think VW are a bunch of t**s as they only did a recall on the GTI. what model is your car Arnoldo?

1.0E lool yer i know slow but if you keep your foot down long enough it gets there eventually anyway it's a great first car, i rang up VW main office today spoke to them there going to be giving me a call back tomorrow then i spoke to the deaqler near me he told me to bring it in do 1 hours diagnostics at £111 including VAT, cos the problem might not even be the pedal box, and then from there you'l know the exact problem if it is argue it out with VW main office as it has nothin to do with the dealership but put forward a good argumentand be firm though still waiting for that call from VW to tell me what the problem is.
Thanks
