Is it legal to have two different makes of suspension on your car????

ie. Spax Coilovers on the Rear and FK on the front?

im asking this because my front right spax coilover has started leaking oil and its making a horrible noise when driving! i've always wanted the car to be lower at the front so FK would suit the front, but im unsure if this would pass an MOT
any help please would be great.

also i have a whirring noise coming from the rear, its not the exhaust and only starts when i go over about 20mph and gets slightly louder
help!!!

cheers

I'm 99% confident its not illegal - but as with all suspension conponents - make sure you change left and right hand sides as a pair. Front and rear can be different - but bear in mind that re-bound and damping rates may differ between manufacturer. This could lead to a skittish ride if not carefully checked.

No its not illegal as long is it the same suspension on each side of the axel and the springs nor shocks arent damaged.

But I don't think the handling will be anything special tbh. as said probably quite skittish as the shocks and springs will have a slightly differing firmness and damping rate.
