I have a mk4 polo 1997 and i have just changed the radio, unfortunately i shorted the ignition switched live and now there is no power to it. Does any body know if there is a fuse of relay that i will need to change?

There is a fuse on the board under the steering column

(where all the fuses are)
Its a fuse with an engine and a big spark on it on the card. Commonly known as the ignition power fuse

Its a 5amp
If i remember right, something around 17 to 35

I have had a look at the fuses in that range and i cannot find any that look broken. Unfortunately i do not have the card of the manual so cannot look it up. The strange thing is everything else in the car works perfectly only the switched live at the back of the stereo is not. Would it be possible for someone to find out the fuse number for me that would stop this from working i would be very appreciative.

It can happen unfortunately - there are like 15 ignition power fuses for all around the engine and what not. Just inconvenient that one has blown

Been having a look at the wireing diagrams in haynes today, there is no fuse for this wire so i must have burned it through. Is there anywhere i can run an ignition live from easly? I dont really want to go to the ignition switch.
