The Fox or The Lupo?

This might seem a random thread but I rarely post in Club House and this is something I always been a bit puzzled on...

Why did VW replace the lupo with the fox??

I look at both of them and yes the fox is bigger and affordable but compared to the lupo (although it is a little girly) I think it is the better car of the 2

Anyone agree?

Most of you probably think who cares? lol

a shopping trolley lol i like that

even the normal lupos are alright!! i was tempted with a fox before i got my 6n2 but I am def glad i went for the polo. The fox didnt feel right for some reason. Would cheap be a harsh word??

No offence to fox owners. Each to there own and im sure there happy with them but I dunno why they ditched the lupo. It could have developed further I feel

I had a sit in a Fox while on holiday in Menorca. It was really roomy, but you could feel the lack of quality. Apparently the rear parcel shelf is made of Pineapples

I would rather buy a 1.4tdi sport Lupo or a GTI over a new Fox.

Apparently, VW are going to release a proper successor to the Lupo soon. Apparently it will be rear-engined and have RWD

totally agree on a 1.4tdi sport or gti lupo!

We should get a petition for VW to bring back the lupo

The rear engine vw sounds interesting although it said there wouldnt be power steering due to a cost reducing measure!

They replaced the Lupo for a number of reasons:

1. The design itself built on the SEAT Arosa platform was getting old.
2. It was relatively expensive to build for the size of the car, cutting profit margins,
3. With the Fox, VW can sell lots of cheap profitable cars, to people who like the fact it's new, roomy and affordable.

I suppose. Some fair points there.

A lotta people are gonna think the fox is a lot better value for money in times of its size and cost.

Lupo's still fetch quite a bit now used. Would you say they are hard to get hold of? I only found about 2 or 3 on the autotrader within a 40 mile radius

I hate he fox it just doesnt seem to fit in with the rest of the VW range. I think they only made it so they could enter the area of the market for people who wanted a 'cheaper' reliable car with room. Id take a Lupo anyday over a fox.

VW needed a cheaper small car to stay afloat. With all those really cheap bottom of the range superminis, they need to compete. I think for the money they've done a good job.
