hey everyone found out some info which could be of help if you have a brush with the law. if the cops are using a speed gun the cop with the gun must be wearing a highvis vest or they can not charge you you also have the right to inpesct their car which means if they have an out light or duff tyres they can not charge you. the cops can not check tints at night or fading light but can ask you to appear at the station the next day and check the tints then. speed allowances the allowance is 10% plus 2mph so it works out at 35 46 57 68 and 79mph if they catch you at these speeds your NICKED MATE!

f the cops are using a speed gun the cop with the gun must be wearing a highvis vest or they can not charge - Total Bull, I was told by a cop that the high vis vest is only in their own interests so they get noticed by other road users and in turn dont get hit.

the cops can not check tints at night or fading light but can ask you to appear at the station the next day - Not 100% on this one but I have seen the cops check tints at night in the dark, so I pressume that statement is also true.

Lmao this is a cop I knw personally, he knws the laws inside and out. And yes he would need to knw them if there was a loop hole which theres not. Also this topic about reflective clothing came up on my local forum and they came to the same conclusion. Its not needed by the law.

apperntly if you know what your talking about you may be able to wangle your way out of a fine by claiming the device can not give a precsice reading which is more than possible but you really have to know how the guns works and i believe there is evidence to show that they arnt always as accurate as they say,

i wouldnt say it was something that would always get you off the hook (because it wont) but if your only just over the limit and its arguable then i would.
i know laser guns are on the whole very accurate but any peice of equipment with a printed circuit bored or moving parts is prone to faults/errors as we all know with our cars and probably pc's etc.

Perhaps there is some truth to the whole yellow vest idea as set speed cameras have to be painted and made visable so perhaps its true. Also with the tints, the gun they use to measure light passing through a window does exactly that ... measure light. Dont know how it works but I wouldnt be suprised if the lack of light effects it in someway.
