Hey all, im new here, I actually have a golf with an AEX 1.4L Engine, which i know is a polo engine so guessed this is the best place to be, im also looking to get a nice Polo with a AEE?? 1.6L engine in for the mrs.

I have a question, My AEX Engine has a knocking lifter and its bad!! Has done it for nearly 10.000 miles now, i have tried lifter treatments and many oil changes, which haven't helped, I do have a new set of lifters here but i don't want to put them until i have tried everything.... Is it a common problem on the AEX 1.4 engines and is there any other tips any one can give that might sort it?

I don't think it's a common problem, never heard of it before in all my time here, but have been out of the polo scene for a year or so....
