can i swap engines between mks?

Hi everybody
I must admit i am new to the polo scene but now have a good intrest as my girl friend has just fell in love with her second one......... a 1.05ltr AAU code engine polo coupe.
The first one was great and i only needed to do basic maintenance (which was a nice change)
She had a small fopar in it and now i have a spare mk3 polo 1.0ltr AEV code engine and gearbox and loom.
The new car has a blown head gasket and i was wondering if i could drop the AEV lump in to the AAU coupe chassis?
Will they drop straight in on the same mounting points?
Will the drive shafts and suspension fit ok?
Electrics aint a problem as i have the full car to play with
