Hi guys and girls!
I'm looking to buy my first car and need a little help.
Now i've got about £2000 to spend (ish)
Below is a car that I've looked at.
Let me know what you think.
He's asking £1750 for it, but that includes a sound system.
The car is a 1.4 CL
R reg (1998)
Mods: Tinted windows, spoiler, alloys and exhaust.
Has done 88 k miles
Any suggestions welcome!

looks a bit used and abused for that sort of money.
don't let the ice and alloys cloud your judgement.

I agree. It isn't in great condition.
Alloys are trashed anyways, so would buy some new ones.
I can't seem to find any other polo's near where I live.
Most of them are £2500, which seems far to much for a 10 year old polo.

I would not pay for what he asks for!! I reckon the condition of this Polo with 88k only worth about GBP 1300. I am sure you can find something better than this!! Have you tried autotrader, local paper, ebay, pistonheads.com, etc.?

I've looked and looked, but everything looks overpriced
Look at this car below for example:

Yeah that worked
too many doors for my tastes but it's a nice blank canvas and an attractive colour, seems better value too

Yeah I agree. 3 door looks waaaaay better.
Top notch car you got there though, that's how I want to get mine to look.
Is it me or do you think that this car is over priced?

I think so but you do lose a bit of practicallity

not hard
When i bought it it looked like this

<snip>
It's an open air so has the 16V alloys (which I like) and they hold a higher price (they can be a bit leaky tho!!!)
Recent cambelt (so less worries)
Mines done over 100K so I wouldn't worry about the mileage too much
Years MOT and some new tyres/brakes all good things
maybe but not by much
