2000 X Warm Staring Problems

Hi there i was wondering if any polo owners would be able to help me?
My 2000 X reg polo has developed a problem where once the car has been drivin and is up to normal operating temperature the car struggles to restart? and the problem seems to be getting worse! The car keep turning over on the key till after a few seconds fires and coughs then runs fine
Im not sure if its related but if you are drving along and take your foot off the accerlerator pedel to coast then go to acceleate again then there a sort of lump as if its miss firing but after the initial jolt it runs fine again?
I feel the car has lost power generaly, but if you turn the Air con on while the car is ideling it almost stalls the car?
Im no expert if anyone out there can help it would be most appreciated!!
