:D Hi All,
One lady owner who has nearly had her 'lil monster' (in Flash Red) a year. I wondered if there was anyway to get rid of some very minor scuff marks on the black front lower skirt.....??? I have been advised to use a wet n dry sandblock but slightly apprehensive. Mine has only done 21k miles so far, but I love it to bits ! The only niggle I had with it first hand was that it kept stalling, or not starting at all ! It would just turn over and over on me trying to start from idle and then the battery light would come on, the VW dealer changed the immobiliser on it and recoded it, but it still did it, then 4 more dealer visits later on the same problem they have managed to rectify it - so no more problems thus far. Is it illegal to use the front spots on it of a normal night time driving ? I have been told it is by someone I work with but not sure.........all suggestions welcome, I will proudlt scan and display a pic soon of my beast, so until then I look forward to further postings in response.
Cheers all,
Rough Quest

Hi there and Welcome to the forum!

If I were you, I'd buy a new lower "Chin" Spoiler...

They don't cost too much, and if yours is scuffed enough for you to notice it, I think getting a new one will be your best bet.

The problem is that the plastic is "peened" so if you sanded it down, it'd be flat, instead of having all the little pimply bits on it.

With regard to your front fogs, YES! It is very illegal to have them on (and very annoying to oncoming traffic too!). You can get 3 points if I remember correctly. (can you tell I have a "thing" about fog lights? lol)... Anyway, why do you need your fogs on, when we have THE BEST lights you could ever wish for! The HID headlights are amazing, eyecatching and other such positive words!!!

Have a read through some of the topics in the GTi section to see what everyone's been talking about... Common faults, modifications, etc etc...

Again, welcome to the forum and I hope you stick around... You've come to the right place 8)

By the way, where in the country/world are you? We have regional meetings every now and again and it'd be good to have another GTi there!

Thanks !

Ahh, Devon!

I don't know if we have any other members in your neck of the woods...

You need to get yourself some Autoglym Bumper Restorer (it's called something like that)... The gell inside is bright green colour... That's one of the best things I've found for keeping the black bits black.

Have a look in the Group Buy section as I'm currently selling some very very good cleaning products (scratch and swirl remover, polish and clay) if you're looking to give your car a spring clean lol.

You might want to post a price request for the chin spoiler in the VAG Parts section of the forum.

They do mail order genuine parts at very good prices.
