watcha got? gonna be doing mine next couple days just after bit of inspiration.

run it up into the passenger side wing then theres a gap between the wing and the door. You can tuck it in there pass it round the outside then under the door sill. Its barely visible. thast how i don mine when i actually had the sub in.

ok if you look in the passengers footwell. look up and you will see some foam like stuff under the dash pull that out and pull up the carpet in the footwell ( you may need to undo the plastic sill trim.

to undo the sill trim theres a screw by where the seatbelt attatches to the rail on the floor undo that scre and give the trim a tug theres about 6 clips.

now you should see the pipe for the rear washer jets follow it upto the grommet in the footwell and push a metal coat hanger through, look for it in the engine bay, its hidden on the right hand side under around by the brake lines.



i hope the picture above gives you a clue on how to route the wires.

ill just throw in a few pics on how i have my sub and amp setup just for some ideas.

the box was custom made by auto acoustics, along with the laser cut speaker grille,

the only thing with mounting the amp there is it has a tendancly to sag sometimes. i need to line the back of it with lexan or wood to keep the carpet stiff just havent got round to it. the other thing i want to do is cover the amp with a lexan cage and put a couple of fans on it so its in its own wind tunnel it gets quite toasty in the summer( its a cheap amp and sub i spent more money on the box and speaker grille than i did on the sub and amp.

Here's mine (the MK4 boot is pretty much exactly the same as the MK5)

is that a couple of hidden subs in the side walls? if not what are the circle lol? looks sweet bet that pumps out quite a kick. Tell me though MM ive always wondered, how does having the sub upside down effect the sound? i see a few pro builds like this and always wonder what it does lol

Doesn't affect it at al tbh, the circle bits on the side panels are the RE Audio Logo which you can just about make out on top of the sub.

And yes, it's rather loud

ive noticed a 10" sub will fit perfect into the gap between the rear lights and the rest of the boot and was thinking of having two 10" subs in either side wall of the car, like in this render. But im thinking, with the sub in such a small enclose, is it gonna soung absoultely w@nk?

first off if you see my photo above with the sub that is the smallest box you can get away with fir mine 12", i think the smallest box you can have for a sub is 1cft ( someone tell me what it is if im wrong)

seccond you have to ditch the speakers in teh parcel shelf as they will die after abotu 2 weeks of running a sub cos the air pressure in the boot with keep pusing on the cones of the speakers causing them to fail sooner than they would and they sound w**k anyway.


but saying that the landy discovery 4 has 2 10" subs in the tailgate so i might be wrong and that adds a 3rd dimention to the music.

lol i don't like talkaudio its wayyyyyyyy to pro for me! my mate has a 12" sub with 6x9s and they work fine. reckon if you put a few holes in the parcel shelf it would sort out the air pressure?

If you're getting a sub, leave the 6x9's you really won't need them.

TalkAudio is fine for newbies so long as you let them know you're new to it, they all started off clueless as well
