I wanna sell my TDI!!

Well...
I only had it just over a year but I feel a change of car is close...
I have a S 1.4 Polo 6N2 TDI 59k Miles
Has had a cambelt change last year and also has just been serviced and MOT'd!
Reflex Silver. Great car. Cheap Tax (£35 a year)
Slight marks from general wear and tear. Nothing major at all.
What you reckon? I did post the other day asking what its worth but I have heard mixed things. I work in a garage and got there advice and privately they said I could sell it for 3500 - 4000 which I thought was fairly reasonable.
Thanks

I reckon you'd get 3.5 for it no probs...
My brothers is an SE spec and we payed just under 3 for it but it has higher miles...much higher!

I am not one for selling private. I have never done it before. I was thinking of maybe putting something in the for sale section here.
What do you think I would get if I was to part ex? 3??

check what parkers and glasses guides say...go by them
Selling private is much better as you get more...
I've sold 2 cars in the last 4 months by simply printing off A4 sized posters that looks good and sticking em in the windows...both cars sold within 2-5 days...best way as you're advertising on the move.
just highlite the key featurs like tax, test, spec and FOR SALE in massive writing.
When you have a buyer just remember to write them out an invoice which clearly states that you've sold the car on such and such a date for so much and the car is sold as seen with no warranty or garuntee given or implied.
Easy peasy

Cheers! Glad that someone has done it before and knows the ropes.
From what I have heard from a salesmans point of view, you will either get a good amount for your part ex and nothing off the car u are getting OR you will get a good amount off the car but a standard part ex rate.
I have not spoke to a garage yet for a part ex. I dont wanna let it go for next to nothing though
Thanks

No probs mate.
But deffo check the guides and advertise privately...like you said...the dealers will say stuff like you're getting 3.5k for the part ex but then they're sellin the car for more than its value too...they take people for idiots!
also just whack it in your local advertisder/ad trader.

Cool. Will try and sort that this week.
Will be a shame to see the polo go but I feel the need for something different!

I would like a cooper!! Have always wanted one
The other choices were either a Golf of an A3 but at the moment I am sticking to a cooper.
You may think there a bit girly which I have had some people say but I dont really think they are and I am not going to have peoples opinion put me off.
What you think? Cheers.

From what I heard the cooper (not s) is quite pokey. I do like them. The build inside I thought was awesome. I need to drive one properly though really to see for myself I suppose
Do you have a polo gti?
