GTI badge - sticking and unsticking

I'm gonna be removing my current GTI badge soon. With the old one I just used an ice scraper with the edge covered in black tape, and some WD-40. However I'll be wanting to re-use my new one so how do I get it off without damaging it? I've read about dental floss but is there something more effective?
Also whats recommended to stick the badge back on? The double sided tape I got now would be far too thick, meaning it would be a bugger to cut into such a small shape and also it may make the badge stick a mile out from the boot

I used some cotton to get mine off (used how dental floss would be)
How come you're taking it off to put it back on?

I'm experimenting with a new badge but if I don't like it I will be putting the original back on

Ah, cool.
As for sticking it back on, I'm not too sure what to use tbh. I tried double sided tape when I sprayed one of my GTi grille badges black (that was to stick the letters to the backing of the clips) didn't work too well.
I'd probably go for the easy option and buy a new one

What about some good double sided sellotape? Its pretty thin and shoul hold the badge in place.

It's gonna have to stand washing and the rain. It's hard to find decent tape. Using Double Sided for my current rear VW badge, which comes loose after a few months, and using heavy duty "Velcro" stuff from Halfords for my german plates, which comes loose after a month
