its one of those plastic little lip ones that goes on the back. I guess my only options are to screw it on glue it, when i had a look it looks like a real mission to screw it because going through the whole boot is proper thick and id prefer not to have permanent holes in the boot, but i can see it flying off if i glue it. If i do glue it what glue will i need and is there any way in which i should do it? will plain aroldite do the trick? cheers

I would look at getting either a VAG type adhesive to attach it similar to the rubbing strips.
Or you attach it with some screws, and make sure you rustproof round the holes and fit rubbers

scary job though

Go to a local bodyshop/paint place

Ask them if you could pay for a part cartridge of adhesive - show em what you want to fit and to where

Most places will help out and not charge much for the proper stuff if you are

- Polite
- Not Pushy
- Offer to pay for what you need

Failing that you can buy the stuff from motor factors but it doesn't have much of a shelf life and it comes in a big tube 99% of the contents will not be required

Failing that

Buy it off Ebay

PS don't use screws if screw aren't needed - just more opportunity for stuff to rust!!!

I just used adhesive on mine, sikaflex 221. Seems really sturdy and would take alot to pull it off now.

I used 3M mastic, just masking tape it in place once you're happy, and leave for a few hours.

it will NOT come off. adhesive is stronger than welding in some cases!

Clean and degrease - maybe a wipe with panel wipe
