Heya Guys,

i'm getting so many people tell me so many things regarding different branded coilovers.

H&R
JOM
KW
Powerflex
Vogtland
Weitec

Of all of these, which is your preferred brand?

I think this is going to prove an extremely pointless poll, cos i can guarentee not one person on this forum can pass judgement on all of them brands

well someones got on the wrong side of dee-vub!

I'm trying to get views and ideas on what people have experienced with different collies dude.

I got people telling me FKs are the nuts, or Koni's are good, and KW varient 3's are the best, etc etc.

For people like myself, its very hard to choose what to go for, as collies are not cheap unless you go for cheap supersport sh!t.

but everyones entitled to their opinion dee-vub, and by checking out ur car, i can tell u know a thing or too about polos....so you tell me what collies do u personally recommend as next week my car goes into overhaul.

Cheers

I thort FKs were the bomb, was planning on saving up for them, but the guy i go to to get all my stuff done changed my mind. He's a big part of gwent VW and owns a supercharged GTi with lambo doors,,, the lot! (so he knows his stuff basically), he said FK used to be one of their main product line companies, but they dropped them cos they were getting such bad feedback, people kept finding them seizing up when trying to adjust them, so its totally put them off for me!! I heard weitec i really good, but i'm the same as you, dont really know whats good whats not because of such mixed oppinions!!!! if you do find out ne1 more, or get sum soon, let me know and tell me how you get on!!!

i understand where your coming from mate, i was just pointing out a fact that 99% of people wouldnt be able to vote cos theyve prob only experienced 1 or 2 sets of coilies.

Anyways......i run unbranded german coilies  and they've been fine lol

All the coilies you've stated up there will do a fine job.....if i was you, i'd stick with whats in the known. FK's probably

The bloke I spoke to said he's run KW V1's V2's and V3's and strangely enough prefered V1's.

Yep.

For a road car, I fail to see why you'd need V3's really. They're geared more towards race cars.

By putting copper grease all around the threads,

Adjusting them up and down every 3-4 months or so,

Then give them a good clean and re-grease once or twice a year

i wouldn't buy coilovers again after having mine seize up!
total waste of money for me!

unless you have the time to take them apart and re-grease them every 6 months then the most brands of coilovers will rust and start to corrode

remember they aren't designed by VW so they affect alot of different parts of the car, in bad ways ie. camber, tracking and even driveshaft.
