Ok probably a question asked a million times... but if I want to decat my pre-92 Mk3... does it have to be a custom job? Or would one from a mk2 fit - and/or any mk3s made without the catalysers? I'm considering a boogie round the scrapyards now, seeing as the pre-xmas sales rush has died off here ;)

I think hardhitter off here does modified downpipes for GT's that are de-catted, but they have twin downpipes that join just before the cat.
A mk2 downpipe would need modifying anyway as there is a threaded inset for the lambda sensor, which controls the fuel injection system

Mk2 downpipes are also shorter than the Mk3 ones, so you'd need an extra bit of pipe welded in as well as the threaded insert for the lambda probe. I have a new Mk2 downpipe in me shed - yours for a tenner, can bring it to the Club Polo RR day if you're interested? Think postage will be expensive.
