Hi, I'm currently using the factory dunlop sport SP2000, but not impressed by their wear rate, wet weather ability and sudden switch into understeer.

What are the Conti's like fitted to the GTI? And I've just seen someone mentioned the michelin pilot exalto pe2 and i had very good wear rates from the michelin pilot primacy's on my old gti.

Thanks

i would go to conti's my two fronts just gave way recently after the slightest bump both of the tyre walls broke and they ballooned out
i currently have Goodyear ds-g3 eagle f1 there really gd for grip not sure about wear rate
but ive heard gd things about the michellins apparently they last forever, literally

(don't laugh) i've got nankangs ns-2 on the ibiza, fairly cheap asian tyre BUT got good reviews on www.mytyres.co.uk and i'm impressed with them!
in all fairness, i don't hoon around alot but i like the grip levels in wet and dry and they nare fairly quiet on road noise compared to the other tyres i've had.
my mate uses the same tyres on his mk2 ibiza for track days due to their grip levels. the mk2 is a converted 1.8t with masses of work so it don't hang around anmd he really likes the nankangs!

hope that helps!

if you want realy good tyres, go for:

Bridgestone Potenza
Pirelli Zero Nero

i know many sprinters and they claim that these are the best in grip in all weather.
some prefer Pirelli, some Bridgestone...

but there are so many other good tires arround, somehow you'll find one that fits you

Im quite impressed with the BF Goodrich set. Made by michelin, just not with a michelin branding. Very very grippy, even in the wet :D

i also can account for bridgestone potenza re050a tyres, i think they are simply the best available from trial myself, but its a shame they dont do them in 205 45 16 :(
