Golf Mk3 seats in a Polo 6n?

Hi,

I've heard Golf mk3 seats fit a Polo 6n.

As far as I can tell the fron seats go straight in and are a like for like swap with no modification needed.

My question is what needs to be done on the back seats to get them in?

Any advice or a step by step would be appreciated greatly.

Thanks,
Mahbs

I've got a Golf mk3 VR6 interior in my mk4, frontseats are straight swap, rearbench from Golf is wider, some slight mod's to the backbench (the part you to with your back) is needed to make it a bit narrower, seating of the bench (the part where you sit on) is almost straight swap, just get rid of the little hokes, and then it'll go in, good luck!

Here is my mk3 VR6 black leather interior in my mk4:

One small advantage of Golf mk3 seats, the high-adjustability goes lower then on the Polo mk4 seats 8) which comes in handy for me being 2 metres tall

Jarno,

How did you make the back bench seat backs narrower? I've been told that you have to take the back metal parts off the original Polo seats and swap them over...is this what you did or something else?

Is also an option yes, but most people do it by narrowing the original Golf rears by sanding/scraping some of the metal off of by doing the same to the Polo chassis on the points where the bench is mounted to the chassis

Mk3 golf seats fit. Also you may want to look at Seat Ibiza Cupra seats. Some are half leather and i have seen polos with that in with no need for modification (not exactly sure about rear bench tho probly would need some slight modification)

Audi TT seats fit but there is quite a bit of work involved so you may wna give that a miss..

TT seats give a sh*tload of work to adjust, you will need to make yourself a new underrail etc. Golf mk4 seats are easier to adjust. Straight swaps -> Polo mk4, mk5, Golf mk3, Vento, Ibiza 6K, Cordoba 6K and Lupo and Arosa (all of these are striaght swap frontseats, rearbenches need minor adjustments, except the mk5 Polo, which goes straight in)

Thanks Jarno, someone should make the straight swap info a sticky for future reference.
