i was playing about with my number plate earlier and couldnt decide where to put it as i wanna move it?

I'm saying lower grille, thats where mine lives.

On the grilles best for the mk5, think it looks awkward on the splitter, whereas it works there best for the mk4. don't put it slap-bang in the middle tho, put it at the bottom.

Put it where it's supposed to go, looks 'goofy' down the bottom. Best place is in the windscreen. I had it on my passenger sun visor for months, never got pulled for it. The law states the front plate must be made of a reflective material and be visable from the front of the car.

does anyone have pictures of where theyre number plate is? so i can see wat i think about where it goes......

Windscreen is good until you get stopped Andy, then it becomes an expensive place to put it

Kinda does on the mk5, think its cos'v the bumper style although I reckon its an ok look on my mk4. The sunvisor can be a hassle with the plod buggin you if you get caught, its a nightmare.

this pic shows what the reg would look like on the splitter. and yes that is the mirrors u see in the left top and bottom corner. i was in the process of spraying them black.



this is with the reg on the grill.



and these 2 are just taken a couple of hours ago to give u an idea wats happened and whats happening.





so far the mirrors have been done and the front bump strip on the front bumper is of and im in the middle of smoothing it out as you can see from the filler. next plan is probably spray handles but not sure how to get them of. thinking of getting the rear ones removed and smoothed so i just have the front ones.

Please tell me that isn't car body filler cos it sure looks like it!

Going back to the 'goofy' look, you could even space your number plate to match, X11 9OOF hehe.

yep it is because its going to crack!

you need to go down the plastic welding route to get the best result.

oh well 5h!t happens. when it all goes horribly wrong then i'll get it redone.

Was a good job, but unfortunately some methods just dont work anymore

That reminds me; the cracks reappearing on the filled in vents n my 16v bumper. Every garage says they'll have to fibreglass it the way it is. They say they can't plastic weld or metal plate weld a piece to cover the gap. Is this true?
