Hi everyone. I've just installed a new Alarm System and Immobiliser into my Polo. Everything works perfect, exept the indicators (flash when armed/disarmed) because I have simply not wired them into the alarm :P

The reason I've not wired them in is because I can't find the wires that become live when the indicator circuits are activated :( . I have two wires that need to be crimped at the switch to both the left and right indicator circuits. The alarm will then output a 12v positive current to both of them at the same time, causing the indicators to flash in phase when armed/disarmed.

I've looked at the wiring diagram in my Haynes, and from what I understand, the left indicator circuit is a Black and White gauge 1.0 wire and the right circuit is Black and Green gauge 1.0. According to the diagram, these wires are next to each other in the switch harness, but none of the harnesses have this combination, also I have tested those colour wires and other wires that I can find with a multimeter to earth, and I'm not getting a 12v reading when the indicators flash :x .

There are quite a few wires under the steering column, coming from the various switches, and I'm well and truley confused :? .

Can you help me locate these two wires that I require. Thanks in advance. :D

OK total guess, but have you looked over the other side under the dash, found loads of wires under there the other day m8. This probably isnt much help sorry.

Sounds damn nice m8, tatcham approved and CAT1/2 alarm is it?
*Details*  pls

Thanks. Yeah, I've looked. Altogether, there are five wire harnesses behind the steering wheel. The wire I am after is most likely going to be one of the two on the left hand side, which goes to the indicator stalk switch - I just can find the bugger.

My alarm is a Sparkrite SRA8 alarm and immobiliser with Ultrasonics. Its not a Thatcham approved one, but it certainly is a quality alarm and it's the works with loads of features. I wanted to fit it myself to keep the price down and also for the experience. It was very satisfying to install, bar the indicators

Anyone else have any experience with this?

Okay, I've found the wires now yey :D

They are located on the lower harness right at the bottom of the steering column - and yes the wire diagram was right, they are SW/WS and SW/GN colour code, but not next to each other!

Anyway, the indicators flash now when I arm and disarm the alarm. Lovely :D
