Has anyone done this before.. What would be the best option? To repaint my current caps or get metal ones..
I've looked through what Kamei offer and I was wondering if the saloon polo mirrors are the same as the hatchback?

Fair play for going for something different - each to their own and all that, but are you serious? Personally I think that they look cheap and nasty thats all. :?

Yes I am being serious and I thought it would be something different, I have seen the whole black/silver theme done so many times. I have my own thoughts in mind of what I want the car to look like, plus worst come to worst if they dont look good, they are so simple to take off.

Not sure about those Kamei mirror caps myself, looks a bit odd when you can still see the red around the back of the mirror still. It would look a lot better if you can finish your own mirror casings (or a spare set) with some form of chrome paint/polishing, I think.

But if you like 'em, get 'em! Not seen anyone else fitting them.

Cheers

That's exactly what I was thinking, I just don't have any idea on how good they will come out if they do get painted.

They look the same, get onto vagcat.com and compare the part numbers

I like those mirrors too, especially the bit of red

They might look better on the car than in a pic.

I'm all up for doing different things (hence my rear view mirror) so go for it Max :D

The only problem is my mirror cap is cracked, so I'd be having to get a new one anyway so I thought ideally I'd just get metal ones, but as far as I am aware they do not exist!
BIG Plans for Winter :)

Use the cracked one as a test pilot for spraying it silver! If you mess it up, hey you needed a new one anyway!

Why not get some carbon fibre ones like mine.
