Been looking into getting a GTI upgrade from my little 1L 6n and the cars a reasonable price its insuraning the damn thing.
Im 18 nearly 19 have less than a year on my licence but i get my year on my licence same month as tuning 19.
1 years no claims and 1 TS10 offence.
is £3000 realisticly my best offer?

with less than a year on your license and considering your age i would've put it between £2.5k-3k

I'm 20, 0 no claims (in theory I have 3 years, but I was a named driver), passed my test for 3 years, all mods declared cost me a shocking £1850. Adrian Flux quoted me £3000

and most places said they couldn't insure me until I was 21 when I muttered the letters GTI.
To be fair I think it's all the mods that have pushed the price so high, aswell as the 0 no claims thing of course. But I'd rather pay more and have everything above board. I'm with Brentacre by the way.

I pay £480 with Brentacre, full comprehensive with all mods declared, and business class 1 cover. The last bit adds roughly £100 to my premium but is required for my job.
I wouldn't have even considered a GTi at 18/19 years old, the costs were simply far too high.

You're an old git though Si
I was 19 when I got mine, think it was about £1700-£1800. With Brentacre it worked out about £1500 with paying monthly and the deposit.
However that was with 1 years no claims as I'd been on Elephants 10month bonus scheme which not a lot of other insurers honour (would have been 2 years with Elephant)
The advantages of moving to Brentacre outweighed staying wit Elephant though.

Thats Intresting, the same as Brentacre quoted me for my renewal, I got a quote from AF for £408 and got Brentacre to match it.
Also with my mods decleared and Class 1 business. I'm 24 with 7 years NCB
I waited until I was 21 to get my GTi , personnally I don't think paying 3k for insurance is worth it. I would save the money your be thousands of pounds better off if you wait afew years.
