I wont say too much on the subject...
She should have really done some background research on the country she is visiting so not to offend them like she has done here.
I recon they will let her go with barelly a slap on the wrists.

Well surely with the kids being from that country, they should know about Mohammed and should have known not to name the teddy after him.

It's religion gone absolutely berserk if you ask me. The whole thing is comical in one way that a nation would actually want to kill someone over the naming of a teddy, it doesn't sound quite real. On the other hand it's shocking for the same reason.

Apparently you cant name any object over there Mohammed, Only a person or living thing?

Thats partially correct.
Basically Mohammed is a prophet (like Jesus you could say) and by naming the teddy after him is seen as an insult. The teacher should have known better but Im sure will be forgiven.
Imagine naming the teddy the "N" word in Africa (ok not very religious I know) but still very insulting, so it's one of those things where you gotta think before you act in a country where people have such strong views/beliefs
