Exactly, plus the genuine VAG waterpump is an exchange part so does not cost a lot - some people say that doing this is a waste of money - but if the waterpump fails in 35Ks time then you will be a bit sick! I certainly got mine changed along with the cam belt + all the tensioners etc. The original pump impellar was hard plastic - the new pump impellar was metal - I wonder why? One other thing, if your engine is a petrol 1.4 16V then the top idler wheel is not included in the kit "does not need it" VW say, well my VAG indep guy said that he changed mine as that idler wheels sometimes siezes and is the cause of the belt failure - you have been warned, by the way this idler wheel has the same number as the one for the PDI engines - it does not show up in the 1.4 16V parts list - it is only available as a complete assembly, ie fitted to a mounting bracket.alexperkins wrote:Sounds about right for a dealer.
