Long time no talk from me, i read all about yours but i dont ever post anything about mine...untill now

im an 18 yr old guy witha 1.2 s polo
and for some time..thats all it was i had no money to do anything to it, clearly it would be to a gti "lookalike" i have the grill and the logo at the back and the sideskirts but i had 1 problem that was just bugging me!

the central locking...it was by the key and not remote!!
It would do my head in so today i got a cobra remote central locking system fitted to my car with abit of dealing i got the whole system fitted for £200
1stly is cobra good? Ino they bring your insurance premium down by 13%(is that true because my insurance for this car on fully comp is of the scale!!)
and 2 do you think its a good price im pleased myself and the fact i can turn on the alarm when i want to to scare people away its just funny!!

Also i have got a job now finally!!! so was going to move on from the standard sound sysem(even though it is actually very good) i was going to go for a extreme upgrade and i want to hear peoples verdicts

1stly the head unit

and also i dont have the links however i was going to get a 12" alpine r type sub with amp and box for £350 brand new and fitting is that to expensive and also would you guys recomend?

hope i get some messages of advice back on the wall thx guys

o and btw a little question

I havent tryd this yet but i see loads of people talking about the little arials stubby 1s 1stly when you change is there ANY quality change at all because i think they look nice and 2 why dont people just disconnect the arial and just have the nob, or dont you get reception i dont know i havent tryed yet.

Hello mate. Firstly Welcome. About the alarm. I got a Clifford installed to my 9n earlier this year and unfortunately it didn’t bring my insurance down as the 9n/9n3 has a factory fitted immobiliser as standard. Although I also think it may depend on your insurer. I am with Norwich Union. That was a good price for the alarm but how long did he take to install it. They are not easy things to install. But if he took at least a good couple of hours, that should be all good. :)

ICE wise, I have a JBL sub and amp package that I got of the net for about £140 last year - which is very good for the price. I fitted it myself. I can't remember which site, but I would certainly recommend it.

About the aerial – It won’t work with just the base – hence why it’s on there. Lol. I got mine of ebay for about £7 IIRC. It’s a Honda S2000 aerial and fits well.

for £350 I'd pop onto talkaudio.co.uk and buy a 2nd hand sub and amp. it'll be a lot better than the new setup you suggest. plus you can have the fun of fitting it yourself!

that picture is awsome.

love the oldness of it, even the lampost is old :P

i don't know about the rest other than the aerial which you'll need to get a reception and the s200 is a nice one to go for ;)

yea the price for the sub and amp with a box was from a store but just wanted to see, ima defo get it off the internet though like my headunit the pioneer was on sale in an audio store for £699!!! just the head unit no ipod adaptor nothing!!

to fit the central locking was 3 hours and im pleased very neat inside with the inside sensors very good n 2 years shop warrenty so cant complain, might have to get the arial you knowww but does the reception differ because for example choicefm(i dont know if you guys listen to it) but i cant pick it up well i do but it cuts for a second and then back on every min or so is that usual or because of my area..south ldn :D

and was going to get window tints now if your from south you should have herd of vampire tints if any1 has had them form them let me know if there any good

Also for the package i told ou up there for 350 this is the best i could find for the sub and amp and box

whats your secret then? or job

i think the s2000 aerial picks up the radio better if i'm correct.

if not it will be just as good as the standard one.

i have a stubby one that cost 50p off ebay and i can pick up i shouldn't be able to :P

The S2000 aerial does affect getting Choice FM mate. Thats what I've noticed anyway but its not by much and then again with the standard aerial its not so good.
