DUMP VALVE

hi was wondering if their is actually a dump valve for the polo gti 1.8t as iv been looking and have not had much luck in finding one and if i hav found one their not a trustwothy make in my eyes. any help will be appreciated.

i have a forge 007p recirc valve on mine, can be bought directly from forge motorsport too
i also had one on the other gti polo i had too, they do their job very well and are uprated over standard
failing this, if you wanted a BOV not a recirc, the engine management wont like it compared to the recirc, but forge make one called the split-R dv or look in tok a bailey one

thanks for that jeff, which one would you recommend to go for as i do like the sound the dump valve makes but i dont want to lose power.

From reading thro forums Split-R seems to be the best one (Or just most common) It lets just enough air to re-circ to keep the engine managment happy. IMO i would go for a 007p or Dv30. Dont like the idea of the Split-R "just" letting enough air to keep the engine managment happy! But go onto other forums to see if anyone has any problems with this or not?

Sorry other thing ya could do is fit a cone induction? But tryin to prevent heat soak and get a good cold air flow can be a problem as there hasnt been one designed for the polo as far as i know?

im not a fan of the spilt r - i had one for a total of... 30 seconds, as i plumbed it in... drove up the road... promptly turned around, and took it off lol
forge 007p is the way to go, if you really want tish - add a open end filter!

Why did ya take it off? Warnin light or just annoyin? A put an open end filter on mine for bout a day or two. Fukin annyin!!!

i took it off cos its really annoying....
but as you know if you had a open end filter and the 007p, each time you give a little bit of throttle it just dumps the air back through...
the spilt r did just that, but in a typical FRST style with a bailey
brrrmm TISH!! brrrm TISH!!!!! *switches off car* lol

so the split r just got on your nerves more than anything. did you have any engin manegment probs with it or just the regular dump valve noise became irritating??

I have the FMCL007P and it works great.
I have been in a few 1.8T with dump to atmosphere and they make too much noise IMO. Some of them dont even dump quick or in one go. Its hard to explain the sound - sort of phss and wizzs for almost 2 seconds - and you get N249 mechanical malfunction error.
But i have also seen Bailey blow off DV that have worked fine when located just before intercooler on TT180s.
If you want to hear the Forge FMCL007P a little then fit cone filter instead of airbox, you will then hear the recirculating dump.

Does fittin a after dv increase the power? Its just doin the same as the standard is it not? And a know ppl say the standard diaphram bursts, but not on the newer engines. Vw have fixed this problem am led to believe?

No increase in power by changing the DV to an uprated one.
Some move the DV to after the intercooler so you dump cooler air back in instead of when its hot straight after the turbo.
The later Bosch DVs are much better than earlier ones but having a rubber diaphram means they will wear out and can still split so leaking small amounts of boost.
Sure you can replace with standard item again but why not get something better. The Forge unit looks so nice in polished silver.
Uprating is more useful in higher boost applications. The uprated unit can hold much higher boost pressures and is supposed to respond quicker.
The Bosch DV in my Polo worked fine - I just wanted the Forge DV for peace of mind that a better item is there dumping and holding the 1.2 bar, and surely in the future my boost will be much higher than that

no engine management light as it still re-circs a bit of air back into the system, but the sound it made was just annoying lol

007p and the 007pa whats the differance? which 1 is recomended for a polo gti 1.8t 2007 with a re-map?
