9N3 Double Din Monitor - Straight Swap?

Hi everyone,
I have been thinking of upgrading the standard RCD200 system in my 9N3 Polo with a Double DIN monitor. The reason is so I can add an iPod interface to the car, but I thought I might as well kill two birds with one stone and do a total upgrade with the head unit. However i'm quite clueless when it comes to ICE. Is it a case of taking the old and swap it with the new or is there more to it? Any tips and advice?
