How To Fix A Shatterd Window!!

Post by Acemo »

Buy some new glass!!!

when you come to remove your door card, there are two screws under the actuall door handle cover thing, all you do is just pop this plastic bit off with a flat screwdriver and there will be two bronze coloured screws

then all you do is take your door card off and unplug all the leads, like for your wingmirrors, as seen below

wen you come to take your seals off, make sure you keep these lil black things, because the door card pops onto them

then take all your rubber door deals off and the speaker housing

then remove the seals and wingmirror cover, easy enough, forgot to take photos sorry.

thennnnn you should have something that looks like this!!!

Image

hoover up all your glass, but use a old crappy one, my mum wasnt best pleased that dyson was never gna suck ever again lol

Image

theres not a chance you are going to get all the glass out, because it just kinda sits in the gaps and you would be there for about 3-4 years gettin it all out

Image

now here is the hard part

there should be like 2 little metal things that the glass sits in, these sit on black runners, they dont sit on them very well but they do sit on them,

in the picture below there is only one, thats because in only had one for some reason and im guessin thats why my window didnt work in the first place lol

Image

anyway, the best way to sit the glass into these is to pop the glass in from the top, get it in the seals and push it rite up to the top of the window, so it looks like the windows shut.

then wind your windows up till the little metal grabbers in the photo above are grabbin the window, then slowly take the window down with the metal grabbers IN THE SAME POSITION AS WHEN THE WINDOW WAS SHUT!!!

if you dont do this then your window wont go up past a certain point

then when you bring it down enough you can tighten up your metal grabbers and put everything back togethor

there you go!!

sorry i ran out of photos at the end of it, it got a bit frustraiting at that point lol

ope it helps sum1
