Starting problem

Hi,
On Sunday i flew back from the States after a week and found my car would not start. The people in the car park where i had left it tried jump starting it but it just turned over and would not fire up. I called the RAC who basically removed the distributor cap, removed the HT leads and screwed up the firing order and then could not remember which order the leads went on. I had to be towed back in the end after waiting 6 hours. Not very happy.
To start it, i disable the imobiliser with the key, the indicators flash and then I turn the engine over. I can not smell petrol or get a spark from the coil or sparks. The RAC guy thinks the parking lot could have fried the Hall sensor when they were trying to get it going. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?
Cheers for your help
