passenger side electric window not working

hi my girlfriends polo mk4 electric window is not working . i think there is power getting the to the switch because when i press the switch the cars idle rev decreases. can anyone help me?

smack the inner door grab handle HARD at the bottom. it's usually dodgy contacts on the old motors that causes this.

inner door grab handle? do you have to take the door card off to do this. what does it look like?

no, I mean the door handle on the inside of the car. the big black handle you shut the door with
I said "door handle" once and the guy thought I meant the outside of the car!

i tried the wacking the door handle. it didnt work. any other ideas?
