First off, just wanted to say what a good meet it was yesterday.

Good to meet some new people.

I have a few issues with the polo at the mo.

No.1: Central locking has failed, need a new motor. If anyone has one to hand or knows of a breakers near them then please let me know.

No.2: This one is odd. Electric window problem as follows; basically cannot open passenger side window from drivers side switch, but can from the passenger side. Presuming it's a switch problem? Would I be right in assuming this and has anyone else had this problem?

No.3: Where can i get hold of a Black grille badge? Vagparts.com is down at the mo for me!

Cheers for any help

Try ebay for a central locking pump, the 6n 16v ones will also fit.

nice to meet you yesterday Chris.

In regards to your window problem, try letting the window go all the way up using the passenger switch, and once it reaches the top keep hold of the switch for 4 or 5 seconds, this operates a reset and may get it working again.

I've had a number of different problems with mine and they've all been resolved by doing that

and you Tim, journey home go ok?

Cheers for the advice, will give that one a go!

Had a search on the bay and cant seem to find many pumps about. Mk3 Golf may prove to be a more popular choice. What particular model should I keep an eye out for?

Thanks

well mine is out of my mate's 1.9tdi, but i'm sure any of the ones that have central locking should be fine since the connectors are exactly the same.

i had the same problem as you with the window switch after a garage i was having work done at got the switch wet,

you just need to replace the switch but you can test it by removing the block of switches and try swapping the connector for the passenger window onto the drivers side switch and see if the window oprerates ok with that switch.

cheers,

ash.
