Firing Sequence help
Posted: Mon Feb 04, 2008 11:15 pm
Hello,
This is my first post, I currently have a
1.0L (999cc Injection)
1997 Reg Polo L
I recent replaced the:
Distributor Cap
Rotor Arm
HT (Distributor to Spark) Leads
However when doing this I made a huge mistake I didnt note down the locations of where the cables are ment to go, I managed to find out my firing sequence which is: 1-4-3-2
If anyone can verify this it would be great, I also found out my rotor spins anti-clockwise
Due to me not noting the cables down and having not much previous experience I need help in findout out which part of the distributor is number one, my neighbor said it will be the bottom one, so my set up should look like this
====3====
=========
=2==o==4=
=========
====1====
(is this correct or is the number one connection at the top?)
Secondly if you are looking down at the engine (front on from the front of the car) which cylinder is 1, does it go:
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 (left to right)
or
4 - 3 - 2 - 1 (left to right)
Any help will be appreciated and thanks for any help in advance
