whining noise sounds like driveshaft or something! HELP!!!!!

while accelerating through the gears the car has a faint whining noise. the noise is not in time with the sound of the engine but sounds like it increases as the car gets faster. does anyone know what this is? thanks for your help.

Sounds like your gearbox bearings are on their way out. Or it could perhaps be a wheel bearing. Get it checked asap.

Right i can help with this i had the exact problem was told it was clutch bearing on way out and it will be fine........yea right 3 months later big crunch later car was back in garage turned out it was the gearbox totally knackered so 850smackers later car was back on road now i have been told that the mass flywheel has some wear in it happy days another 315 quid to spend on dam car but that can wait so heres to slow driving for me for a while hahaha hope this has helped but would get it sorted asap

Dual mass flywheel worn....get it replaced or bang another gearbox

might also be worth changing your gearbox oil if you can - or at the next service.

mm dunno i had this was just two rear wheel bearings cost me £70 for both replaced, get it checked out asap tho
