Kicker squares do not sound mint, yeah they are loud, but as for sound quality, sorry to the OP, they are lacking!

good effort on the box tho, will look nice at least! but.......................... why have you picked a SOLO X to be in a sealed box in your boot?? not an ideal sub for the application at all!

dunno really! my mate got one but a 12" and it sounded good.
i know they are bad for sound quality like you said but they are made for spl and that only really stuff like short bursts.
i wanted sumin with a bit of a punch and loud so i thought i would get one. i put it in a sealed box because i'm not a big fan of making a box the size of my car and seeing how loud i can get it lol.
the sealed box is for the better power handeling side of things really and what i wanna use the sub for is better off in a sealed box, on the other hand i still wanted the bass there so thats why its in a small sealed box.
i have tried it out, and it sounds great, just right for what i want.
it was built to kicker spec so not suprised it sounds good.
thanx for the comment on the box tho mate

as long as your happy dude, i just hate to see a sub wasted in a box that is not optimal for its performance (both spl and sq are achievable if done right :) )

just to correct you tho - you say you went sealed for the power handling, thats all good except ported WILL take way more power than sealed with a given sub ;)

what you trying to say mate??? you saying the box ain't big enough or ain't made propely???
i know alot about car audio and i know that the box i have made is optimal for sound quality and for best power handeling.
by the sounds of what your saying is that the box is too small and it needs to be ported, well that may be how you like it but like i say i don't like the sound of a ported box and i wanted it sealed for sq and the recomended size is a 2cft box to achive best quality sound and better power handeling.
i have already tested the sub out in the box with the amp and it sounds perfect to me.
oh and its very loud.
