wel here goes...

i had to get 2 tyres put onto my alloys at front so STUPIDLY i went down to quik fit (ggrrrr) and they did it fine. However when putting the wheels back on and tightning the bolts, there was this massive 'snaping' noise, which i now know was the idiot overtightning the bolt and snapping it. But at the time everything seemed ok so i let it go.

However today when i was putting my new mud guards on from becuase i snapped my old one, when i went to loosen the bolts to take the wheel off it just fell straight into my hand :O, so for about a week i had been driving with just 3 bolts.

Anyway i took it down to a local garage which has turned out to be a decent place and they managed to get the rest of the bolt out that was stuck in it, pheewww

anwyay the moral/tip of this story...NEVER GO TO QUIK FIT

Nightmare dude! Well at least they tightened yours! I went to a Quick fit to get two fronts fitted. All seemed fine after they fitted them until I got a few miles down the road when a loud knocking noise started from the front. Got the car home and found the monkeys had left the drivers side wheel finger tight!!! I was suppose to be going to London that day as well so it could of been alot worse had I not spotted it earlier! i.e. a closer view of the central reservation on the M40 with a wheel flying past...!!!! [/i]

true. i knew the lad who usually does my tyres but he broke his arm so his mate did it and turned out to be the most useless mechanic ever. anyway i have found a decent, local, honest garage now which i will stick to

grrrrr kwik fit
