Been looking at the new gti for my next car, was just wondering if anyone knows how much it would be on finance? And if anybody's got any figures on insurance would be helpful. Cheers

driving for 3 year with no, no claims? Been under some one elses insurance as a named driver i presume?
Either way i think a GTI will cost you far far too much 2k+ insurance.
Im 20 with 4 years protected no claims (1 yearas from scooter

) and i pay £600 fully comp on a 1.4fsi 9n

. My price on a 9n3 gti was nearly 1500 fully comp so 2k+ will be about right. This is bearing in mind i live in a very very low crime area too.
Financing wise its a case of finding the peopel offering the lowest interest rate and thats kinda end of. Then just seeing how much it will cost for the amount of monney you want to borrow over 'X' amount of months.
Persoanlly i dont think you shoudl get a new GTI as it will be too expensive all round unless your a rich fella. Stick to a mk5 for now untill yours 21+ and have atleast a couple of year no claims.

Didn't wana disheaten you mate, just wanted to give you some hoenst advice, a GTI would cost you 12+ grand, where as a tidy mk5 gti is 5 grand.
Mark 5's are good cars mate, providing you find a good example of one you wont be disappointed.

The quote can depend quite significantly in some cases on where you live....
my policy went up £105 when I moved just 4 miles away towards the city centre

That's pretty steep, I'm 21, 1 years ncb (would have been 2 but I was on Elephants 10month accelerator which isn't recognised with my current insurer) I pay £1500 fully comp on my 6N2 GTi

my insurance on my modified 9n3 gti is just £718 fully comp all mods declared
im 23 years old with 2 years ncb and been driving since 17 as a named driver on other policys, no accidents or convictions at all, regardless of fault
im also not in a great band of postcode either, so im informed anyway
though mine has a lot of standard extras from the factory as well as the non standard extras, so just a run of the mill gti could be even cheaper still to insure
so worth enquiring

I pay £386 for the whole family (2 much older parents, 19 year old (me), 27 year old and a 34 year old) to be insured on my 1.4SE..
I'm a named driver but its with direct line, so I'm fully comp. and have been driving since the day I turned 17 with no claims.
May be up to the postcode, and plus my mum has had the same mercedes for 14 years with not a single accident.
edit: touch wood, it stays this way!
