Hey guys. Soon the above will be mine! The good thing is they have been recently repainted so look good - trouble is they are black! I plan on painting them red when I get them.

How should I got about it? Could I just spray some primer over them then go over it with a tin of red hammerite, or will it need Nitromors - Primer - Hammerite?

I think when we resprayed simons golf brakes red, we just sanded them to give the paint something to stick to, not sure you have to get every last bit off with nitromors or anything.

I'd say a good sand down, prime and Hammerite, and you'll be fine 8)

Is priming neccessary after a sand down as I got some red thermal spray paint (Hycote engine paint) for my calipers. Also any advice on what to do on my rear drums as the previous owner did a poor job and its flaked and started to rust in a dot like pattern?

I would re-prime yes, unless the first paint job is the same colour? If that's the case I wouldn't bother, I didn't and they came out beautiful!

for rear drums I'd paint them black, nothing worse than seeing someone showing off the fact that they have drums!!! If had them I'd try my best to hide them
