Hi, I got a major problem today, the day after I bought the bugger now it won't start.

When I turn the key in the ignition the dial starts flicking really quickly, the digital clock resets and the alarm is engaged, it just will not start, what could be wrong?

my neighbour who's a mechanic helped me out and jumpstarted it, he reckoned the factory fitted alarm killed the new battery.
