Right im planning on spending a whole day on cleaning my car from top to bottom, i know what to do on the exterior been looking at this guide:

but i don't knwo what to clean the seats with as i dont want to ruin the material they have some very very faint stains made by the previous owners i was thinking maybe a steam cleaners or maybe the seat cover has a zip i don't know about also the celing cos it looking a little dirty.
What do people put to clean door cards get them looking black again and remove stains?

I've heard good things about Steam Cleaners, Would also like to know more on the matter though!

There's alot of things on the market that involve applying foam to the seats, rubbing it in then rubbing off, can anyone recommend any of these?

well....don't laugh but i cleaned my interior today and used vinegar on the windows and 1001 carpet cleaner on the upholstery, looks like new

Vinegar on the windows?!

Surely there's a more smell efficient way of doing it? Doesn't your car stink now, what made you use vinegar?

well its great for cleaning windows at work so i gave it a bash, i left the doors and boot open for a few hours to get rid of the chip shop smell :p

Vacuum then Steam clean with just a water based steamer (dont use any scents, chemicals or anything else like a rug doctor - thats very bad for the seats), then use AutoGlym HiFoam Interior cleaner. Its excellent stuff. Apply a nice coat, then work in with a dustpan brush or similar. Then when the foam is all gone, wipe the area down with a clean, damp cloth. Also, when its thoroughly dry - i mean bone dry!! vacuum it to get any dust left in the seat out from the cleaning.

I did that on my GTI interior and it has came up like brank spanking new - colour is restored, dusty smell is gone and it generally looks great!!

Those steam cleaners sound highly attractive now! In the mean time I'll try out the AG stuff see how that works for me,

forget expensive waste of money "get your dash looking like new" halfords polish, if its plastic use a flash wipe, if its glass use warm water with fairy liquid and wipe it off with kitchen towl, trust me that works a lot better than any window cleaning product and is almost free. spray it on from an old plant feeder bottle or somthing, wipe it off, smear free, does the job great!

I dont have a steam cleaner but i got my seats clean with a sponge and warm water haha, did the job! didnt have any luck with my ceiling tho

Yeh use similar methods, (i can only use water on my tinted windows), I also use AG rubber care, because I just happened to find it lying about the house!! Doesnt do anything more than water, but smells really good

The AG hi-foam interior shampoo is absolutely great stuff, I use it every few weeks or so to maintain the interior and it also helps deodorise the interior to boot

Can I ask why?!

When i got mine tinted, I asked what was best to use to wash them, and was told nothing acidic or anything short of a microfibre cloth,

He suggested a few things on the market that were suitable but we both settled that nothing beats good old water for safety.
