Definately, lowering makes any car look instantly better, it's the single most effect mod in my opinion. (which makes me wonder why I've left it til last to do myself!!)

When I finish uni, so late April kinda time?

I'd also like to know about arch rolling, I THINK it's done for around £25 a corner, can anyone else confirm?

Think its around that but i'm just guessing as mine came already rolled. If you like try stretched tyres for less scrubbage.

scrubbing on 15"s WTF
i guess u just did the lowering on the cheap with a set of springs
does your car bounce like a ball over bumps????
and i take it hit the arches and handle like a peice of crap

i dont mean to cuase any offense to you guys
but lowering spring on there own should be banished from the land
the springs just dont match the stock shocks
thats why they are scrubbing as there is not enough resistance from the shocks

get a SHOCK AND SPRING KIT

the fool who had my car before me did the same
i could not go down my drive at more than 30mph with 14" wheels
then i got a SHOCK and spring kit
managed 17" wheels without scrubbing
and with the car now going to be on 18" i have roled the arches
only because of the width
i bought an arch roling kit off ebay for £400 i charge 30 a chorner
also if your arches is what the tyres are hitting (the outer lip)
with 195/50/15 you have the wrong wheels with an incorrect offset

nope i got a full kit, it seems lower than 60mm even though i bought a 60mm kit, the ride isn't bouncy at all reli. the offset is 35 and its 6.5j and the tyres are 195/45/15. when te car is just parked the wheels look like they are goin up into the arches thats y i think its lower than 60mm. im not too worried that they are rubbin cus its onli a small bit but its a loud noise at times, just trying to find otu bout some arche rolling cus it would sort it out a treat and i would be happy.
The kit however is a kit from Philj, not the best i know but im young and a student so i dont have the biggest budget and if the rolling is about £100 for the lot then its still cheaper than what it could have been with a more expensive kit. its a learning curb as it is my first modded car.
also just out of intrest, when the arches are rolled will they always be rolled to the same distance out or will it just be to your preference, bit of an essay but cheers lol , and thanx for theinsight bratman would buy some nice expensive coilies if i had the funds :D

so they are hitting your outer arch
not good may only be a little scrub
but the coppers love srubbing tyres
you will b looking at section 40A of the drivers act 1988
(driving a car in a condition that maybe dangerous to you your passengers or other road users) (blowout)
the £100 on arch roling
a G Max shock and spring kit you will find for £150 and the kit is just awsome my m8 criss and my other mate have the same kit 60mm lowering and both use 205/16/45 so i thing your wheels are the problem
did you buy them new?

yer they were brand new. im taking her down to a body shop on sat and they sed that they are gonna take a rubber hammer to the inside arches so is doesnt distort the outside, its free so i sed i would let them have a go. reason for the rubber hammer out look is that they informed me that with the slightly oldder models the paint is more brittle and may have a tendancy to crack.... does all that sound slryt cus i came to the conclusion if the hammer doesnt work then stright to the arch rolling.
didnt know that one bout the Gmax kits but cheers for the future, i have loads of cars in mind to mod up so now is a good time to learn these things :D.... also just wandering cus ur doin all the stuff to ur car urslef bratman, are u a mechnic or have u picked it all up as u have been modding, cus that vr6 conversion ur doin looks tasty.

i used to work for seat for a bit
then at VOSA
to be honist modding is all self tort
the inner arches should be sound to be honist i only had a little trouble with the front hitting on fill lock with 205/17/45
so really i thing theres something really funny going on with those wheels
i think u have the wrong offset
a set of 15" should never be a problem on a polo at 60mm
it would be a problem if the were renalt ofset not VW also vauxhal
take the wheels back tell your problem it wont cost its part of your warrenty
start with wheels that fit
it happend to me when i put renalt wheels on my polo
then i put wolfrace wheels the same size in all dimentions
not a squeek

when i sed inside i ment the inside of the outside arches if that makes sense, wow im confusing things. mine are wolface octane races, and i have been assured by 3 companies that the fit like a charm. it is literally a couple of mm that it is scraping on the OUTSIDE (lol) arches and when i spoke to the guys at the body shop they sed it shouldnt be a problem to sort :S.... so yer do u think the hammer idea could/would work?
