vacuum hose size! help!

Hi,
I need to know the internal diameter of the VW vacuum hoses that come out of the unit on the top mount on TDI engines. One of mine has melted. I guess the external size is about 8mm but I don't know the internal size.
VW only sell the whole set, so I have chosen to repair the burnt pipe.
Any help appreciated!
