Future GTI Road Tax

We all know about the increases in road tax but this is exactly how it affects the GTI:

The irony is pre March 2001 cars, who are paying more now will end up paying less than post March 2001 cars

Bastards!
I noticed it said rates are based on emissions and the type of fuel used. Well I use v-power and as its cleaner burning than normal unleaded i want a discount on my tax

That's what you get for buying a new GTI
How do they calculate your C02 output in terms of driving style, speed, type of fuel used? Obviously someone who put in normal petrol in their GTI and drives at 80 all the time will produce more emissions than someone using V-Power and driving at 65

3 Jul 2000 – 1 Mar 2001 £66.00 £120.00
1 Mar 2001 – 1 Feb 2002 £79.75 £145.00 D
Hmm bit ood this, as mine was registered in Sept 01 so i should have paid £145, but never - and only paid the £120
So i wouldn't take it as Gospel!

Yep, was planning on getting 12months this time round. But it sprung on me so fast I didn't have time to save up enough!

Think i must have read it wrong!!!
My tax for 12 months will go up £5 next year to £210. The year after that it goes to £260, then in 2010 its £270.
I read the first year bit which is £425!!!!

mines £101.75 for 6 months and i think £175.00 for 12 months.
