Basically my 57 reg candy white GTI's front bumper is absolutely covered in stone chips. Its only done 5000 miles, its completely shocking and what makes it worse is the GTI bumper is black underneath. Anyone else think the paint on their non metallic GTI is shocking? Think VW will give a crap if you went to head office and complained?

They wont even entertain anything to do with stone chips! Sounds like you've just been following something kicking up loads of grit and crap over the winter.
You'll find that most bumpers made from ABS are black, the GTI bumper is nothing special......
Just get it blown over, its not that dear.

I havnt driven any differently to any car I have owned. Its the s**t paintwork, you can see how thin the paint is around the front vents, its disgusting really.

How can you tell the paint is thin? Have you had a DFT gauge on it? Or can you actually see shadows of primer through it?
If you can see the paint is poor/thin then it would definately be worth going to a VW dealer who has a bodyshop.
My tailgate had a minor paint imperfection in it under the lacquer, VW rectified it without any problems.
