Right, well im thinking about upgrading my speakers. I dont really want a sub so i just want to upgrade the speakers in the doors and the rear panels to something with a bit of bass to them..and i can amp them aswel if required.

Whats out there then.

Cheers :D

Hi mate.

What car are we talking about and budget? You'd do well to get some good front components running off an amp and just leave the rear speakers running off the HU. What HU are you running?

Ash :)

Mk5 Polo GTi....and around £100 (not including amp). Sounds good mate, what sort of speakers? size, make etc?

Well, the Mk5 Polo has 6.5" speakers, so 6.5" components would be a perfect fit :D

For £80, the SPL Dynamics SD-6.2 components are excellent and highly acclaimed for the price. Hopefully a set will find their way into my Polo when I have more time in the summer. They appear to like being overpowered...stick to around 200 - 250W RMS and don't play about with the gains on the amp and they'll sound great :)

Have you got an amp or would you be buying one?

For the money, the JBL GTO 75.4 is very nice:

The GTO1004E would work well too...newer model, a bit less output though

Still 225W per channel bridged isn't exactly low ;)

I'd get the second one.
