OIL LIGHT

I HAVE A VW POLO CLASSIC 1.4 PETROL
OIL LIGHT COMMING ON ALSO PUT PUT SOUND WHEN IT WARMS UP
NO LOSS OF POWER
SHOULD I BE DRIVING IT AND WHAT IS WRONG

This is may sound stupid, but have you checked your oil levels?

Hmmm...and you say it's making a rough noise whist cold? I'm assuming it didn't make this noise before? Is the head gasket ok?

no noise while cold, just oil light comes on about 2min after starting and
about 5min or when car heats up the put put sound starts
