well today it came, my Meguiars G220 dual action polisher, based on the porter cable 7424, iv been like a dog with 2 .. erm ... bones all day

i spent the full day at it, easilly spent an hour per pannel and i retired for the day as my back is absolutely murdering me

so far the following have been done, and by done i mean swirl and micro maring corrected

bonnet
n/s front wing
n/s door
n/s rear quarter
o/s front wing
o/s door
o/s rear quarter
tailgate

this leaves me just the roof and both bumpers to do now another day which is cool as im more than half way there now. car has been washed and dried to remove polish thats been splattered and machine dust now too

my process was
sonus sfx-2 enhance, applied with a sonus das swirlbuster green pad
excess haze removed with a zymol microwipe
the car was then inspected under my new twin halogen tripod for inperfections and if necessary the above process was re done, if not, i moved on to the process below

sonus sfx-3 final finish, applied with a sonus sfx-3 final finish pad
excess buffed off with a zymol microwipe

this 2 part process will be done to the remaining pannels, and once im happy everything is ok, the whole car will be machined again with the sfx-3 final finish and final finish pad

once this is fully complete, ill follow by washing the car with a zymol sponge using zymol autobathe, dried with a zymol chamois then sealed with zymol carbon, finally a coat of zymol field glaze will be added by the G220 for the finish

but so far its coming on nicely, giving nice results, and im pleased as its the first time i have experienced the machine hands on, the pannels that are done are like glass and feels like new fresh paint again, feels almost tacky and rubberised, but i know this is because its missing a seal at the minute

updates and more photos will follow shortly too

and sonus products include no fillers, so if you see no marks, there are no marks, they are not just masked up

it seems not all the photos i took turned out well, but here is a taster of the results for now

might get some fake bbs lm's haha, only joking, no im not swapping them, comps are just off again due to a change of mind ;)

and yeah, the paint was suffering from maring quite a bit from washing it every other day in the winter, so drastic, yet effective measures were called for haha

out came the G220, whole car looks just like its been painted again, its cool

Jeff, do you fancy doing mine??? It's in extreme need of some swirl removal! Bloody VW and previous owner obviously had no clue how to clean a car! :(

You certainly love clean paintwork!

Definitely! Mine needs a good clay and a hard polish and wax, hopefully I'll get the time to get a good go at it over the next few weeks

everyone is different eh white polo, i have the best of all worlds, 2 cars and a bike so i can use either at my leisure, polo is my toy

i have again today re done my bonnet and full drivers side again, meaning they have been done twice now

results are flawless, going to re do the passenger side and tailgate tomorrow after work so they have all been done twice too,

then do the other 3 pannels that i aint touched yet another day

just need to wash and dry then followed by a seal and glaze to really lock in the wealth, will look better than new once i have finished,

but i would estimate that will probably be another month or so before im complete on the paint and done the wheels, its a great process, but the right results take time
