Dodgy Aerial/Base

It seems since i've had the car all i've had is problems!
so, the car (6n2) came with one of those crappy aluminium look aerials from halfrauds. So i ordered an Sk aerial the other day from ebay. The aerial came today, except when i went to unscrew the existing aerial it wouldn't budge. So, i whipped out the mole and it started moving. But it's not actually unscreweing. It's turning, but not going anywhere, which means that the aerial was either the wrong size and has been rammed in ther so badly that the threads aren't threads anymore, or its just broken...
in either case, im PISSED!
any ideas?
tar.

are you sure its not an anti theft aerial? could have a ball on the end which you remove by just giving it a good tug!
put a towel behind the aerial on the roof so that it doesn't accidentally scratch your roof when it pops out, and make sure you don't bend the roof!
if it still doesn't budge then i'm not sure what you can do?

yeah, one of my mates suggested that...
I'll give it a good tug tomorrow. Just worried that i might pull the base off as well!

i've tried everything, pushing and pulling, twisting etc.
All of which has come to nothing. It still sits in there.
It spins freely, but does not want to come out.
It's one of those anti-theft ones, but surely you must be able to take them out???

just come back from halfords, to see if they could take it out. sadly, no. The only way it seems is removing the whole aerial base and replacing it with a new unit.

pulled the aerial off. it took with it the screw thing in which it screws into. deffo need a new base now. covered the gaping hole up with some sealant to stop it leaking water, but yah, all this for an s2k aerial

Worth it in the end mate!! Least you'll have a decent looking aerial, you'll forget about the expenses in a month. Plus most 6N2 bases are corroded so need replacing anyway

Definitely, just ring up vagparts, they're a relaly popular thing to buy (I've bought one before).
If you need just the rubber seal its about £13, if you need the base too it'll cost you around £35
