Steering Wheels

Post by Torq-Al »

I find the steering wheel on my 6n 1.3CL a touch skinny & want a wheel thats a bit 'chunkier'.
Is a GTI steering wheel from a mk5 Polo or mk3 or 4 Golf GTI a straight forward swap?

Have looked at the mk3 golf gti wheel, & it seems to fit the bill. My 6n has an airbag, & would like to keep it if poss. Have seen that maybe the golf wheel has the same airbag, anyone tried this, or know? :?

Yes I have got the mk3 Golf GTI Colour concept steering wheel on mine! Leather and mint!! Loving it... It is an ideal upgrade for your car... piece of cake to replace too! Do it!

Hate to dig up an old thread but ive got a 6n 1998 and wanna replace the steering wheel with a nicer looking one and newer but dont wanna loose the airbag to be honest (the thought of a big nut going straight through my skull if some berk decides my front bumper is a dodgem, doesnt appeal to me really  )

Did you get one and did it fit?
Thanks :D

Got a mk3 golf GTI one & yes it would fit, however not much better than one I had. Will look out for a leather Golf GTi one at some point. :)
