last week my service light(by the mileage) came on flashing with the word 'oil' aswell. then next time i started the car they was both off.

now today the 'check' light came on, i've just done an oil change as a precaution but the light is still on?

i no the best thing to do is get it on a vagcom, can somebody post a link as to where is best to buy it from?

then, more worryingly - whilst i had the engine bay undertray off i noticed the gearbox had loads of oil over it, what is this likely to be? broken gasket/seal? at the moment the gearbox is fine, no noises/grinding etc. will the vagcom tell me this... i'll add pic's of the gearbox casing later

you can buy the cable for vagcom off eBay, doesn't cost alot.
