Cupra Wishbone Bushes

Fitted mine this morning, and what a difference.

Been suffereing the typical steering wheel juddering when accelerating that a lot of MK4 golf owners etc have experienced when the factory buses flex under the loading.

Cupra bushes on and all the juddering is gone, and the car generally feels a lot better.

Total cost £26 - £16 for the two bushes and £10 to get some large washers machined to press them bushes in. Took about an hour per side to do.

(you also dont need 4 washers, just one large and one small will do)

No real need to do the front bush with a powerflex, i wont have the car long enough for that bush to wear and give any slop - from MK2 experience there is little to gain by changing that bush.

To clarify there is no such thing as 'seat sport bushes' the parts are standard fitment Ibiza Cupra.

They differ in that they are completely solid and have an alloy outer casing and not the plastic liner that the oe bushes have.

If you run any sort of uprated suspension, or have remapped the car, or done the brakes - you should replace them, the standard ones are rubbish.

Actually you should replace them regardless imo.

so thats another job to add to the list... NEW BUSHES...

the bigger brakes and the extra power have defo affected my standard ones - seems to have got worse all of a sudden..

my hands, arms, legs, neck, etc have only just recovered from fitting the K04-001 - guess a few more bruises and scrapes comin... lol

Powerflex should be easier to fit ? ones I have done before just slide straight in... ???

Dont use the power flex bushes for the rear wishbone bush!!!

They are just crap inserts to fill the voids in the standard bushes. All the ibiza/fabia owners have been slating them for years and fitting the much better solid cupra bushes.

The Seat Part number for the bushes are 6LL 407 183

As in my first post, the Cupra bushes come in at about £8 each.

Not sure on the availability of seat parts out your way though, vagparts.com would likely do them for you - might save a few quid if a few of your OZ Polo boys group together for the shipping.
